Reflection for Project and My Role

We worked really hard these past two weeks and feel like we have really started to make some headway. We experimented a lot with mainly script ideas and staging what we had written. There was a lot of focus on just getting our project up on it's feet and us having to start somewhere, so for this reason, we chose to begin by making a script. This worked for us and allowed us to have something to continually work on, but we realized after getting feedback that this took away from the realness and believability of our project.
We had gotten to a place where we liked the way our first two scenes were scripted as well as staged, and were ready to get feedback. Last Friday, we were able to rehearse these first two scenes and then showed our work to the class. Going into this performance, we knew that our second scene, which consisted of Maddie's monologue, was not as well developed as our first scene between Helena and I, as we had written the second scene more recently and did not have a lot of time to revise much of it. Regardless, we were eager for feedback to find ways to make our project better.
There was a lot of great feedback that we received from our class and teachers, but we were a little taken back by it all. We were a little overwhelmed by all the things that we needed to work on, and did not really know where to start. But we also know how important that feedback is to help make our scene as amazing as possible. One of the points we needed to work on as I said before was the realness of our scenes, especially in terms of our script. Moving forward, my job is going to be to keep producing lines and developing the script, but also editing and changing any lines that feel forced, fake, or like a soap opera. I've worked on this a little already, and I can already see a huge difference in the quality of our scenes.
